Summer course July 26-30

Residential accommodation (if required) at Sidney Sussex College

 The course comprised individual tuition, plenary sessions on the special topic, evening lectures, concerts and the opportunity for private practice on church and chapel organs in Cambridge.

 Special topic - Music and the word: the relation between music and text in organ literature.

Plainsong settings and the Catholic tradition beginning with Frescobaldi Chorale settings and the Reformed tradition beginning with Sweelinck

- and continuing through the centuries.

 Students were also encouraged to bring their own choice of repertoire.

 Places were limited to 12 active participants. Plenary sessions, lectures and concerts were also open to observers (no limit on numbers).

                       Non Residential                 £245 - meals extra

                       Non Playing Observers      £10 per session attended or £30 per day  - meals extra
