A study day took place as a follow up John Wellingham's successful Dancing Hand last November.

This was held on May 9th on the H.C. Lincoln organ of 1821 in Thaxted Parish Church.

The focus of the class was on repertoire suitable for this important historic instrument which awaits restoration

but is of exceptional interest as the only surviving large organ from the Georgian period

There were morning and afternoon sessions, from 10.30-12.30 and 2-4pm.

John Wellingham suggestedthese pieces

They have been chosen to maximize the strengths and minimize the weaknesses of the Lincoln organ which is in urgent need of restoration!
